The Fall
The LORD God planted a garden toward the east, in Eden; and there He placed the man whom He had formed. Out of the ground the LORD God caused to grow every tree that is pleasing to the sight and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...Then the LORD God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die."*
God loved to visit Adam in the garden. They probably had walks together on a daily basis. Adam had a good job. He was given the job of cultivating and keeping the garden. This was an easy job. There were no weeds, no disease and no sweat. Just the fun of watching perfect plants grow up from the perfect soil. There is nothing like that in the world today. God was there to answer any question that Adam may have had. God was there and could teach man about good and evil. God also wanted man to have a choice to obey Him or not. So there in the garden was an opportunity for man to choose to obey God and eat from any of the many wonderful trees in the garden or disobey God and eat from the one tree he was told not to eat from. You all probably know the choice man made and that is why we live in a fallen sin filled world. God the Father is giving man an opportunity to choose again today. Man can choose to believe in any of the many false religions or man can choose to believe in Jesus Christ.
I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.*
The good news is that you can choose Jesus today.
