Jesus Heals The Centurian's Slave

Based on the Bible but not exactly the Bible. Domitius was a Roman Centurion. A Centurion is in charge of one hundred soldiers. Domitius was different than most Romans because he loved the one true God that the Jewish people introduced him to. And there was another unusual part of this Roman that God respected and loved. Domitius loved his slave Rolius. Unfortunately his friend Rolius was very sick. Domitius had tried everything to help Rolius. Domitius had Rolius placed in the honored guest room. He had asked the Roman doctor to help. But the doctor said it was no use, the slave would probably die. So the household prepared for the death of beloved Rolius. Everyone was very sad and gave up hope. But Domitius would not give up, he would try something extraordinary to help Rolius. Domitius heard about Jesus so he decided to ask his Jewish friends Beracha, Dekel and Chazon to come and help him find Jesus. Domitius was a special man. He was not ashamed to be different than other Romans around him. Other Romans worshiped idols, treated their slaves poorly and did not like Jews. The people around us may worship the wrong things, they may treat other people poorly, they may even try to hurt Jews and Christians but we shouldn't copy their sin. Think about how you can be different like Domitius was different.   And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.   Think how you can love people the way God would want you to. Think of how you can go to extraordinary lengths to help others in need. The good news is that Jesus went to extraordinary lengths to help you. Romans 12:2 (NASB)
