Philip And The Ethiopian

God's desire is that everyone have a chance to hear the good news. God knows a man who has traveled all the way from Africa to worship Him in Jerusalem. The man has stayed in Jerusalem and received part of God's word, but he has not heard about Jesus. Now he is leaving and on his way home without hearing the good news. God's timing is perfect and Jesus will not allow this man to miss out on knowing Him as Lord and Savior. Philip, Peter and John have been on a mission trip to Samaria where they have shared the good news about Jesus with wonderful results. Now they are traveling back home.   So, when they had solemnly testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they started back to Jerusalem, and were preaching the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans. But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying, "Get up and go south to the road that descends from Jerusalem to Gaza." (This is a desert road.) *   God is sending Philip on a mission trip to meet the man from Africa. Have you considered that your being in a certain place at a certain time and meeting a new person is a divine appointment? In other words, God has placed you in that situation so that you will share the good news with the new person. That is a divine appointment. God is in control of all our situations. Never miss a divine appointment. Never miss an opportunity to share the hope that you have.   sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.*   Acts 8:25-26, 1 Peter 3:15 (NASB)
