This is based on the Bible but it's not exactly the Bible. Trevor and Adreana got to the crowd just in time to see Jesus being brought on stage. Trevor desperately looked around the crowd to see Jesus' disciples, but he could not see anyone he knew. As Trevor continued to scan the crowd he did notice something very unusual, there were priests and Pharisees mixed in with the people, which seemed very strange to Trevor because they normally stayed together. Then Pilate came on stage with a prisoner.
The man named Barabbas had been imprisoned with the insurrectionists who had committed murder in the insurrection. The crowd went up and began asking him to do as he had been accustomed to do for them. Pilate answered them, saying, "Do you want me to release for you the King of the Jews?" For he was aware that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy. But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to ask him to release Barabbas for them instead. Answering again, Pilate said to them, "Then what shall I do with Him whom you call the King of the Jews?" They shouted back, "Crucify Him!"
Trevor and Adreana were terrified by the wild mob. Trevor felt like he couldn't say anything because right next to him a High Priest shouted "crucify him". Trevor thought, why didn't Jesus say anything? He just stood there, not defending Himself.
But Pilate said to them, "Why, what evil has He done?" But they shouted all the more, "Crucify Him!" Wishing to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them, and after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified.
He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth.
Do you see the character of God in Jesus? Do you see His love for you? Do you see His power?
For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, yet we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.
Are you weak in Him? That means you have submitted your life to God. To submit means to give yourself into God's hands and to Let God do what ever He wants with your life. The power of God is directed to you when you submit, and that is the good news.
