Based on the Bible but not exactly the Bible. Josh was suddenly woken early in the morning by a knock on the door. "Who is it?" Josh fearfully exclaimed. If only he could get up and answer the door like when he was a young man. "It's Michael! Can I come in?" "Sure, but why are you here even before the sun is up?" Michael came into Josh's house with three other friends and a lamp. "We have decided to take you to Galilee where Jesus can heal you." Josh's eyes grew big in the dark room and he exclaimed, "You are going to take me to see Jesus the great prophet that has cleansed the leper and made the blind to see! Surely He can make me walk once more." Josh was overjoyed! "But how are you going to do it?" His friends laughed and grabbed the four corners of his bed. Wee! Josh exclaimed. They were off on an adventure that they would never forget.
Isn't it great to have friends. We all want to be with other people. People that share our interests. People that we can play with, share jokes and laugh with. This is the way God made us. We want to have friends that help us when we have needs. Jesus said:
"Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you."*
Isn't it great to have Jesus as a friend. He can help us with all our needs*. As Jesus' friend we need to do as He commands us:
"This I command you, that you love one another."*
Love your friends and neighbors as Jesus would want you to. The good news is Jesus wants to be your friend.
