Based on the Bible but not exactly the Bible. I watched Jesus grow up in the little town of Nazareth. He worked right along with his earthly father Joseph, the carpenter. Jesus did a fine job and many people loved and respected Him. But oh, how I wanted to comfort and minister to Him when He would injure himself with the tools. It hurt Him just like it would hurt any child. I just could not understand why God was doing this. God must really love people. Look at Him, the very creator of the universe became a boy just like any other. I watched Him laugh with other children, run and have fun playing games, go to school, do errands and make many friends. I thought of all the times in the past when I would serve Him in heaven. Now according to the plan I must not be seen and I must stay at a distance. Look at Him, the creator of the tree is now sawing, drilling and molding it to make a chair. Oh, how I wish I could serve Him, but I must stay at a distance as commanded.
The Bible does not say a lot concerning Jesus as a boy, but we do know that he grew up like we grow up. Once in a while He could have hurt Himself and felt pain. And other times He probably felt good because what He made was well done. Then there could have been times when He woke up in the middle of the night cold because He did not have enough covers. Like us all He probably enjoyed that warm loving hug from his mom. Then there were the times when He could have eaten something that was yucky! But most of the times He probably enjoyed eating His mom's cooking. The Bible says concerning Jesus:
"The child continued to grow and become strong, increasing in wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him."*
In many ways Jesus grew up like you and me, and yet He was God. This is a great, great miracle and mystery. This is very hard for us to understand. This was probably hard for the angels to understand. Jesus understood. Jesus said:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."*
