John and his wife started out on an island where many people already knew Jesus as their Lord and Savior. So God led them to go another island. The first thing John did on the new island was to build a house. Of course there weren't building materials ready, So John soon learned to mix the coral powder on the island with sand to make concrete for his house. After he finished the house he made furniture for every room. All the while the island people watched him and became interested in building themselves. This was John's opportunity to help them and become friends. John helped them in many ways and the people became skilled builders. They also learned to read so John printed parts of the Bible with a small printing press that he brought with him from England. God richly blessed the people on the island. They loved John for bringing them new skills and bringing them the good news.
John's love for Jesus showed up in his work. He knew that with God's help he could build anything*. John was positive, he was not negative and people were impressed.
Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.*
Because John loved the Lord, was positive, and did good works, many people were very interested in knowing His Lord. The good news is you can be positive and do good works too when you have Jesus in your heart.
