It was a happy day for John and his young wife when they sailed away to the islands in the South Pacific. As missionaries their desire was to tell the people all about Jesus and the good news. All the days on board ship were happy ones for John, too. He loved the ship and was very glad for the long voyage. He spent much time going over the ship/ He studied how it was made until he had learned it by heart. He learned how to raise the sails, how to steer, and many other things. John did not realize how much all these things would help him someday.
John was fascinated with the ship. There is nothing wrong with being fascinated with machines like cars, boats, aircraft, buildings, computers and so on. These are magnificent tools that man has invented but remember they are tools. Tools to get us places quickly, tools to make life easier and tools to educate and entertain us. John loved the ship; a very important tool of his time. He could spend his life working to build ships. That would have been a good life. .
Commit your works to the LORD And your plans will be established.
John committed his life and his work to the Lord and God had some wonderful plans for his life. The good news is that God has a wonderful plan for your life too, but the first thing you need to do is commit, or give your life and works to the Lord.
