Mission - South Pacific

John Williams had always liked ships. When he was a little boy in England, he and his sisters rigged up a play ship in the back yard of their home. They pretended to sail around the world in search of adventure. John had read about Captain Cook and his adventures, and he used to dream of sailing away like him to explore new islands someday. John didn't know then that someday he would sail away, not for adventure but to tell the story of Jesus. This turned out to be the greatest adventure of all. Besides ships, John liked tools. He liked to watch the men in his father's tool shop forge the hot iron into tools. Soon he was helping to make tools himself and became a good workman. But God wanted him to do something besides make tools, and He called him to be a missionary in the South Pacific.   Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.   Yes, God has made us and He is our good shepherd*. Be wise like John and as a good lamb stays in His pasture, stay in the church; stay close to other Christians and most importantly stay close to the good Shepherd. He has made us with different loves and interests. In serving Him, remember He gave you your interests and skills for a reason. Someday your Lord and shepherd will show you how you can use those skills and interests to serve and give praise to Him. The good news is God wants you to have the best life possible with Him.
